Portable Heritage

Portable Heritage: perspectives on white mobility in post-apartheid South Africa, is a project which was conceived between 2015 and 2017 as part of my Master of Fine Arts degree at the University of Cape Town.

In short, the work takes a critical look at white Afrikaner belonging in the current post-apartheid period in South Africa; a time that is riddled with debates on decolonisation, political revolution, heritage and questions of belonging and indigeneity.

This body of work was first exhibited to the public at the 2018 Woordfees cultural festival held annually in Stellenbosch, and was further exhibited at SMAC Gallery in Stellenbosch until the first week of May 2018.
